Gitte Spinder (a.k.a Spinsekt) creates video installations with a sensual and fluid character. Drawing from light, water, and organic textures, her visuals unfold like living landscapes that blur the boundaries between the natural and the digital.
Her installations embody freedom, grace, and feminine expression. They are atmospheres that invite audiences to step into a dreamlike state where perception shifts and the ordinary reveals its hidden beauty.
Collaboration is at the heart of Gitte’s creative process. She loves to co-create immersive experiences with musicians, performers, and designers, weaving their talents into multi-sensory journeys. Shown at festivals and cultural gatherings worldwide, these collaborations reshape the nocturnal landscape.
WUMANAS
In partnership with WUMANAS, the international women’s platform, Gitte created immersive experiences and visual art installations presented in Mexico, Turkey, Ibiza, and Amsterdam. These works combined ritual, performance, and projection to celebrate feminine creativity and collective expression across cultures and contexts.
Golddigger
A musical and visual journey created in cooperation with Jeroen Cuypers and DJ collective Feathered Sun. This project reflects on stillness and movement, solitude and togetherness, inviting audiences to lose themselves in a transcendent synergy of music and visuals. Nature becomes a living canvas where light and sound intertwine.
Love the sun
An immersive collaboration of music by Feathered Sun, live visuals by Gitte Spinder and food art by Sabina, transforming the venue into a multi-sensory landscape. Ibiza 2021
Layers
At Shoeless Festival, Gitte collaborated with Lichtjuweel and Studio Boompje to create a visual installation. The work blended projection, structure, and sound into an atmospheric experience that became an integral part of the festival’s vibrant landscape. Amsterdam 2012
AURORA OCEANS
During Sail Gitte collaborated with Lichtjuweel, DJ Namasteef and Café Noorderlicht to create Aurora Oceans: a large-scale audio-visual installation. Projections of fluid, sensual imagery merged with soundscapes and architectural light design, transforming the harbor setting into a luminous seascape of movement and atmosphere. Amsterdam 2015
